Hopscape is an exhilarating adventure game that invites players to traverse a dungeon replete with elusive spaces. Crafted as a homage to the iconic Zelda Dungeon Crawler, this game is our submission for the GBJam 11 2023. With the theme of 'SPACE' propelling our creativity, we had a challenging but exciting 10-day window to bring our ideas to life. This project was a collaborative effort with two developers Ryan @TrustyTea and Robby Klein, composer Emily Behar.
my role was pivotal in shaping the game's visual and interactive elements. I was responsible for the design of the game characters, the creation of all visual game assets, and the conceptualisation of the boss level. Although the boss level design remains unimplemented, it stands as a testament to our creative ambition for Hopscape.
Despite our best efforts, Hopscape remains a work in progress. Several innovative design ideas and artistic elements could not be fully realised within the time constraints of the game jam. Yet, what we have achieved is a blend of imagination and dedication, laying the groundwork for what Hopscape could eventually become. Stay tuned as we continue to explore and expand the boundaries of this unique gaming experience.
